8 Hours, Every Year, to Give Back 

Centene encourages community involvement by offering Community Impact Time, which provides 8 hours of paid time off for volunteering. This allows employees to participate in service opportunities without using personal time, helping remove a common barrier to getting involved in local communities.

Centene’s approach to volunteering is designed to meet employees where they live and work. Our teams choose opportunities that reflect the causes they care about most, such as supporting the local foodbank or giving blood at the American Red Cross®.     

Employees can find the volunteering opportunity that best suits them through Centene’s dedicated digital platform, searchable by interest, location, and availability. Options include both in‑person and virtual experiences, making it possible to participate from nearly anywhere in the United States. This flexibility helps ensure that giving back feels achievable alongside everyday work duties and personal commitments.

In addition to the individual opportunities our employees have to volunteer, Centene also facilitates structured ”giving back” activities that support a wide range of community needs, from helping improve access to healthy meals, to planting trees in local neighborhoods, to delivering books to students through school programs, to participating in school-based virtual mentoring programs.
