Position Purpose: As a member of the Corporate Business Operations team, this role independently leads complex programs comprised of multiple projects and workstreams. The position is responsible for proactively identifying and mitigating risks, managing interdependencies, and driving alignment across diverse stakeholder groups. Success in this role requires strong executive presence, strategic thinking, and the ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders and executives.
Key Details: This is a fully remote role. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. Sponsorship and future sponsorship are not available for this opportunity, including employment-based visa types H-1B, L-1, O-1, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, or CPT.
- Manage the full project life cycle, including review of various sources to assess requirements, creation of project plans and schedules, obtaining and managing resources, managing budget, and facilitating project execution, deployment and closure
- Utilize corporate and industry standard project management tools and techniques to effectively manage projects. Assist with establishment and maintenance of corporate project management methodology and other department procedures
- Maintain detailed project documentation including meeting minutes, action items, issues lists and risk management plans
- Provide leadership and effectively communicate project status to all stakeholders and external agencies
- Negotiate with project stakeholders to identify resources, resolve issues, and mitigate risks
Preferred Skills:
Project and Program Leadership: Proven experience leading complex, cross functional projects or programs from initiation through implementation and stabilization. Able to build the plan, establish governance, manage dependencies, drive decisions, and maintain momentum without needing someone else to structure the work.
Vendor Governance Experience: Experience managing external vendors, including performance management, SLAs and KPIs, deliverables, contractual commitments, service issues, escalations, remediation plans, and governance meetings. They should be comfortable maintaining a positive vendor relationship while still holding the vendor accountable.
Strong Operational Mindset: Understands that successful project delivery isn't simply meeting a go live date. They think about downstream operations, readiness, handoffs, controls, sustainability, customer/member impact, and what happens after implementation.
Vendor Governance and Business Operations experience would be incredibly beneficial
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience. 7+ years of project management experience with departmental specific projects. Previous experience as a lead in a functional area, managing cross functional teams on large scale projects or supervisory experience including hiring, training, assigning work and managing the performance of staff. Proficient with MS-Office applications. Healthcare experience; managed care experience preferred.
License/Certification: PMP certification preferred.
