We're hiring Actuarial Analysts - Remote

These Actuarial Analyst openings include roles on the following team(s). Additional teams may be added as new opportunities arise.

  • Medicaid Projections Team: Assist in the development of Medicaid financial forecasts. Provide technical support as we expand on our process for projecting medical claims across many Medicaid markets. Work will be both cyclical and ad hoc. This role will ideally be filled by someone with significant Excel experience and some coding exposure (SQL, SAS, Python and/or R.) The new hire will ideally be someone who takes and receives feedback well and is open to growth and relationship building. A Central Time (CST) remote schedule is preferred.

Position Purpose: Assist in financial analysis, pricing and risk assessment to estimate outcomes. Additional responsibilities may vary per actuarial team.

As an Actuarial Analyst, you will:

  • Develop and analyze complex financial and statistical reports related to quality, cost and effectiveness of healthcare services
  • Prepare budget and forecast and analyze financial results related to expectations
  • Assist in financial analysis, pricing and risk assessment to estimate outcomes.
  • Apply knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculate financial outcomes
  • Assist with developing probability tables based on analysis of statistical data and other pertinent information
  • Analyze and evaluate required premium rates
  • Assess cash reserves and liabilities enable payment of future benefits
  • Assist with determining the equitable basis for distributing money for insurance benefits
  • Participate in merger and acquisition analysis
  • Additional responsibilities may vary per actuarial team.

Preferred: Experience with Excel (pivot tables, formulas, indexing, data analysis) and VBA. Experience with SQL, SAS, Python, or R programming.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 0-3 years of actuarial experience.

License/Certification: Passed one actuarial exam - REQUIRED.

Location & Schedule: Applicants for this role have the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in the Continental United States. These are remote roles with team-specific scheduling preferences. Additional teams may be added as new opportunities arise.
