From Humble Beginnings

Pursuing A Mission Centene's commitment to transforming communities traces back to the company's foundation. As the founder of a single health plan in Milwaukee, Elizabeth "Betty" Brinn wanted to help people who were falling between the cracks of the healthcare system. She also saw the new health plan as a way to address unemployment among economically challenged women in the community, by hiring women who were first-time employees, or were returning to the workplace.
Graphic describing who we are, 71,800 employees who transform the health of the community one person at a time; and what we do, provide high quality, whole health solutions for our diverse membership.
Expanding care to 1 in 15 individuals across the U.S.
Centene is a leader in providing affordable high-quality healthcare services, and we're continually enhancing our robust efforts to address social determinants of health.
