The responses I receive from my members after providing assistance or just a listening ear is priceless. I want my members to feel like they’re an important part of their health plan team and empowered to advocate for themselves.

My hope is for people to see that the ultimate goal is selflessness. Your members, patients, families or whoever you are serving will only be truly served when we are selfless. This is bigger than nursing, it’s about serving others, not to be served.

As a case manager, you try and utilize all your expertise and past experiences, which is extremely helpful as a lot of my members don’t know where to go or who to ask. I love my job, I’m there to make sure everything is in order. That’s the way nurses are. If I didn’t have this desire and passion, I wouldn’t be good at this job.
