Position Purpose:

  • Review and conduct analysis, pricing and risk assessment to estimate and drive optimal vendor financial outcomes.

Important Note:

  • This Senior Actuary position requires a minimum of an ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) credential, a bachelor's degree, and a min. of 7+ years of actuarial experience. If you have an FSA and a bachelor’s degree, you’ll need a minimum of 5+ years actuarial experience.

In this Senior Actuary role, you will:

  • Apply knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, actuarial science, principles of finance and business to assess vendor financial outcomes
  • Structure, guide or provide recommendations on analysis needed to assess vendor value prop, evaluate the financial impact of vendor contractual terms, vendor performance and provide actuarial support to negotiation settlement.
  • Collaborate with partner teams to design or improve vendor solutions

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
  • 7+ years of actuarial experience and Associate in Society of Actuaries (ASA) certification
  • OR, 5+ years of actuarial experience and Fellow in Society of Actuaries (FSA) certification.

License/Certification:

  • Fellow or Associate in Society of Actuaries (or equivalent international certification); Member of American Academy of Actuaries (or equivalent international membership).

Highly preferred experience, but not required:

  • Health care actuary that has experience in Medicare, Medicaid or ACA line of business
  • Has exposure to external vendors (vs. strictly in-house actuarial work)
  • Has experience reviewing vendor contracts and financial performance

*Applicants for this job have the flexibility to work remote from home anywhere in the Continental United States. However, due to the needs of the business, ideal schedule is EST/CST. *

Pay Range: $129,400.00 - $239,300.00 per year

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.
